The meeting was attended by over 30 experts, including the representatives of Rosstandart, the Union of Aviation Manufacturers of Russia, United Aircraft Engineering Corporation, Russian Helicopters, Zhukovski Institute Research Centre, Central Institute of Aerohydrodynamics, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft, and Mill MVZ.
The working group’s main purpose is to develop standardization aspects to support the successful implementation of joint Russian-Chinese projects in civil aviation. The working group’s task is to develop a mechanism for exchange, mutual recognition, and joint development of standardization documents between Russia and China.
A catalogue of documents on standardization was approved at the meeting to ensure the creation of a promising joint Russian-Chinese wide-body aircraft. The project cooperation agreement was signed by the heads of the two countries in 2014. The catalogue includes 51 national standards of the Russian Federation, which the People’s Republic of China intends to apply directly.
In addition, the parties continue working on the draft international ISO standard «Rotary-Wing Aircraft. Terms, Definitions, and General Provisions» and on the standardization documents that impose requirements on the permissible noise levels of aircraft.
As part of the visit, the Russian delegation visited Jiliang University – the only higher education institution in China that trains students in Metrology and Quality Control specialties.
The next meeting of the Special Working Group is scheduled for September 2019 in St. Petersburg.
