ANNUAL MEETING OF THE IECEE STEERING COMMITTEE

MOSCOW, June 9 – The annual meeting of the Steering Committee of the IEC System for Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components (IECEE) was held via videoconference.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the national bodies – IECEE members of Australia, Austria, Republic of Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, Canada, China, Korea, Russian Federation, United States, France, Japan and other states. The Russian delegation was headed by Nikolai Fayzrakhmanov, a member of the IECEE Steering Committee. The delegation from Russia also included participants of the IECEE certification system and representatives of the Federal State Budgetary Institution «Rostest-Moscow».

 The International IECEE system was created by the International Electrotechnical Commission in order to reduce the costs of manufacturers in the evaluation and certification of electrical equipment and electrical engineering, IECEE members are currently 54 states. The Russian Federation has been a permanent member of the IECEE since 1985, and the country has a certification body and testing laboratories recognized by IECEE. 

In a separate decision, the Steering Committee thanked the IECEE Appeals Board (chaired by Nikolai Fayzrakhmanov) for the high competence shown during the consideration of the appeal received in 2020. By the same decision, the Committee approved the Appeals Board's proposals for making procedural changes to the IECEE Guidelines.

 Recall that in April, a meeting of the steering committee of another IEC certification system – the IEC Quality Assessment System for Electronic Components (IECQ) was held, which was also attended by the Russian delegation as a full member, whose participation was resumed in 2020.
