THE EASC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY FOR THE PERIOD UP TO 2030 HAS BEEN ADOPTED

MOSCOW, August 4, 2020 – The adoption of a new EASC development strategy and results of scientific and technical commissions work became the subject of the 57th meeting of Eurasian Council for Standardization, Metrology and Certification. The event was held in a video conference format on July 27.

In the meeting took part representatives of 9 national agencies for standardization, metrology, conformity assessment and accreditation of the EASC States parties, including the Azerbaijan Republic, Republic Armenia, Republic of Belarus, Republic of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Moldova, Russian Federation, Republic of Tajikistan, Republic of Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee, the EASC Bureau of standards, the Eurasian Economic Commission.

Participants from Russia included representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Rosstandart and the Federal Service for Accreditation. Head of the Agency, Alexey Abramov, led the Rosstandart delegation, his deputies Anton Shalaev and Boris Potemkin took part in the discussion as well.

After two years of work, by the decision of the EASC 57th meeting the development strategy for the period up to 2030 was adopted.

EASC members summed up the results of the EASC 2020 Strategy implementation and fixed the main front of work in the ten-year perspective in all areas of EASC activity: standardization, metrology, single market (conformity assessment, accreditation, and supervision). Further steps in the framework of the EASC strategic planning will be taken in the development of a comprehensive plan for the implementation of the EASC 2030 Strategy, Alexey Abramov said.
