VLADIVOSTOK WILL HOST PASC 2020 GENERAL ASSEMBLY

New Zealand, April 16, 2019 – The 42nd Pacific Area Standards Congress (PASC) General Assembly completed its work in Wellington. Russian Federation was represented by the deputy Head of the Federal Agency on Technical Regulating and Metrology Anton Shalaev and Head of administration and external relations department of Rosstandart Maria Pishchulina.
Totally 42nd PASC General Assembly hosted 80 specialists from 19 countries as well
as 4 representatives of observer States.
Involvement of ISO President John Walter, ISO Secretary General Sergio Mujica, IEC President James Shannon, IEC Secretary General Frans Vreeswijk and Director of ITU Telecommunication Standardization Bureau Chaesub Lee speaks about the intensive development of standardization cooperation in the region.
Key topics of the General Assembly were application of standards by administrative authorities, interaction of international and regional organizations for standardization and encouragement of more States to participate in the creation of a regional quality infrastructure. Among new areas considered in standardization field are security management systems for services provided by robots; unmanned vehicles; waste management and application of finely divided bubbles technology.
Should be recalled that Russian Federation re-joined PASC and became a member
of PASC Executive Committee in 2018.
The next PASC General Assembly will be held in Vladivostok in May 2020.
